Achieving While Failing

Hey friends, it’s me again, Muhammet !

This time, I want to talk about a different issue that affects many people’s lives—whether positively or negatively—and how each person determines the impact it will have. Can you guess what I’m going to talk about? Okay, I know you might have some guesses, but my topic is failure, which I believe is one of the most important aspects of achieving success and realizing our dreams.

Yes, I think this way because, for a long time, I saw failure as a setback to my success and, ultimately, my dreams. However, gradually, I’ve come to realize that failure is actually a stepping stone toward accomplishing our dreams and becoming successful. But let’s be honest—when we hear that we’ve been rejected by a company for a job or didn’t get the grade we wanted in school, we don’t immediately think positively, do we? Instead, we tend to think negatively, feeling like we’re incapable of achieving our goals.

I completely understand this feeling because I’ve been there too. But as I’ve come to understand the importance of not always getting what we want and experiencing failure, I’ve started to see it as feedback. Failure tells us that the path we’re on isn’t working and that we need to try a different approach to achieve the results we desire. This is what we call experience. It might be tough, but experience is experience, no matter how it comes to us.

In this respect, we could say that there’s no such thing as a “bad” experience. With a growth mindset, every experience becomes a crucial part of success and our life journey. Therefore, when we fail, we should try to look at it from a different perspective. We need to analyze our shortcomings, whether in work, relationships, or other areas, and then approach the situation with a new mindset and strategy.

To do this effectively, we must have consistency and a strong will to achieve our goals. Without these, our dreams might remain just that—something we think would be nice but aren’t truly committed to pursuing.

Additionally, I want to address how the fear of failure often holds us back. As someone who’s constantly trying to improve myself, I sometimes catch myself procrastinating on tasks or avoiding opportunities. When I reflect on this habit, I realize it’s because I’m afraid of rejection and failure. This fear can lead us to stop trying altogether, and that’s the real failure—when we give up instead of persevering.

Thank you for reading! I hope each of you finds the courage to stand up to the fear of failure and make your dreams come true. I’d like to end with this inspiring quote by Thomas Edison:

“I did not fail. I just found 10,000 ways that don’t work.”
