EU Experience
If I were asked to name one moment from my university life that I will never forget, I would say it was my experience at the Your Europe, Your Say (YEYS 2024) event in Brussels during March 2024. This experience was different from any other I have had before, and I believe it played a significant role in shaping who I am today. For this reason, I want to give it a special place on my website, as it reflects an important chapter in my journey.
Participating in such an event has always been one of my goals, whether in the EU or the UN, because these platforms provide a unique opportunity to experience a formal international environment. I was invited as one of two representatives from Türkiye to the YEYS 2024 event in Brussels, organized by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
During this incredible event, we had the chance to discuss issues that are particularly important for young people across the European Union and candidate countries. The program included workshops, presentations, and an assembly, all designed to foster dialogue and collaboration. One of the highlights for me was the opportunity to ask a question during the forum about the situation of candidate countries. This allowed me to contribute to a topic I care about.
Beyond the formal discussions, I was fortunate to meet many notable people from the EESC and like-minded peers from around the world. These interactions helped me learn more about diplomacy and the EU, and they left a lasting impression on me. The experience was not only educational but also inspiring, and it reinforced my commitment to engaging in international dialogue.
In conclusion, my participation in YEYS 2024 was a defining moment in my life. It gave me knowledge, skills, and connections that continue to shape my path. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity and proud to have represented Türkiye on such a significant platform.
